This was one heartfelt story. Jade, the protagonist, is a likable character who takes a long journey to self discovery. Her entire life she's dated guys, but one day she decides to swing the other way. She puts herself out there and goes to her first gay bar. She hooks up with a couple of interested lesbians and from there she never looks back. One day she meets Rachel at a sports bar, on an outing with her work colleagues. They become an item and their relationship becomes quite serious. Rachel introduces her to drugs, travel, and an upscale lifestyle. However, Rachel isn't upfront with Jade, and one day has to disappear. Jade is heartbroken, but is determined to move on.
From there Jade picks up her life, and decides to move to San Fran. She meets her awesome new roommate Benji (who is also gay) and begins a new chapter in her life. She tries new things and decides to pick up surfing. Despite her new found enthusiasm, she ends up in the hospital, but as luck would have it, she would meet her new muse Dr. Wong.
The attraction is immediate, but the two turn out to be more different than Jade realizes. However, Jade has learned more about herself than she ever thought possible.
The story, at it's core, is about finding oneself and learning to accept yourself for who you are. It was a pleasure reading this book. The storyline was interesting, the erotica was well placed and steamy, and I truly felt for the characters (Benji and Jade were my favorites).

Jade Wallace Soma Stanford Myles Gordon 9780993836213 Books Reviews
One of the best written books I have read. The author has a very believable story that could happen to just about anyone.
Great book. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it, her adventures, her coming to terms with herself, life, accepting challenges, and having no fear to just do it, even though questioned. I wish it was longer, as I could have kept on reading the life of Miss. Jade was very well described & written.
**warning for book - lesbian and bisexual/hetero sex contained in pages. detailed drug use included**
The author chronicled a self-discovery exploration by a mid-20s female from Canada that took the character across the world in search of her true self & purpose. I sensed that this author indeed has talent... the challenge with this book in particular is that it needed to develop a bit more so that the transitions ebbed more smoothly and so that the outcomes seemed more plausible. the author tended to capture tremendous detail in somewhat inconsequential yet symbolic parts like the Bee exhibit but would rush through settings and character development critical to the plot like love scenes, Rachel's departure, breakup with Mae... it caused the writing to appear choppy and not believable at times. in addition, the switch in voice like the one the reader experiences when the book moved away from the main character to the roommates was jarring a bit. I would not read the book if about the male roommates... or for the Hetero/Bi scene in the book had I been aware. these are simply detractors in a way and completely discount the claim by the author that this is lesbian erotica... it is NOT so I added the warning up top because I know many readers want the preparation as courtesy.
that said, the plot had promise and with a tad more tweaks the book truly could have been incredible. in its current state, it simply is fair. I almost want a revised edition with some of these edits so that I can reread it because it certainly has potential.
Prior to this book I had never read an erotic lesbian novel before, so I have nothing to compare it to in that sense. I have read a number of books in the "self discovery" genre, and there was a similar theme in this book and the "self discovery" genre. I thought the author did a good job developing Jade's character, and writing about her journey. I enjoyed Jade's intimate encounters throughout the book. I admired Jade's confidence, her independence, her intelligence and her curiosity. I was sad that Jade's relationship with Mae didn't work out, and that she was going back to Canada. I hope the author writes a sequel because I would love to read more about Jade's journey.
"....they were positioned on two separate tectonic plates, about to collide."
This story was all that I hoped it would be. I loved following Jade through the different stages of emotions and physical attractions. The heartaches and the people she met along the way kept the book interesting and sexy.
The characters are likable and real -- I connected with a lot of the people Jade met along her journey, but found my favorite to be the conversations between Taylor and Jade - "Your description was tactile. Raw, rough, velvety. It's like you're imagining touching the words."
Sexy, fun, and a great read!
Was very upbeat and curious at the beginning. It just kinda got muddled in control and not sure where the story was suppose to go. The ending was a disappointment in that it probably would have been better if the scene was a "one night stand." The doctor's ending character was a disappointment.
Overall, it proved to be TOO LONG and TOO DISAPPOINTING to read again.
PAYS YOUR MONEY 💰, TAKES YOUR CHOICE!
Never mind the erotica, this book tells the engaging story of a woman on a journey of self discovery. It’s something we can all relate to, ‘Who am I,’ ‘What do I want?’ big questions, seeking answers. I’m not a lesbian but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book, Jade’s journey is a universal one.
I especially liked the people she came across, the incidental people, a man in a trucker’s motel, a ranger, a surfing instructor. They all came across as real people who Jade often learns something from, not because they are wise or special, they are just people. It’s a story of living, love and loss.
This is easily the best ‘romance’ novel I've ever read, definitely recommended.
